The body of a malnourished 12-year-old boy has been discovered in a Wisconsin home.

The deceased child was found in a severely decomposed state, wrapped up in a blanket on a couch at a home in Milwaukee on Oct. 10, the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed, per TMJ4 News.

The boy was identified as Jacarie Robinson by family, reported the outlet.  An autopsy was performed on the victim on Wednesday.

Authorities are now looking to arrest the boy’s father Romuan Jovaes Moye in connection with the boy's death, which is being investigated as a homicide, according to the criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE. Authorities have said Moye is a suspect.

"The body was extremely malnourished and emaciated, with moderate decomposition of the body,” the complaint states.

Authorities believe the boy died weeks ago, even as early as Labor Day.

Moyes, who police allege is currently on the run, faces multiple charges, including three counts of chronic neglect of a child as well as failure to report the death of a child. The suspect faces up to 82 years in prison and a $45,000 fine if found guilty, the district attorney’s office said, per TMJ4 News.

Robinson was one of four children fathered by Moyes but the only child who was in the care of him at the time of death, the complaint states.

Moyes’ other children were staying with their mom at the time he was looking after Robinson, according to the complaint. His 21-year-old son went to check on the pair on Oct. 10 after he was left concerned when Moyes didn’t answer his texts.

"It [doesn't] even feel real," Robinson’s brother Jordan told TMJ4 News. "Just from getting the call and then progressing to today, I woke up and I was just really thinking in my thoughts like, 'Dang my little brother's really gone.' "

Jordan attended a vigil for Robinson with their siblings and family on Wednesday evening. The group released green balloons in tribute to the 12-year-old.

"I was at work and I got the call and just, man, traumatizing," Jordan told Fox 6. "I definitely want answers. It hurt me just as much as it hurt anybody else."

Milwaukee police have asked anyone who has knowledge of Moyes' whereabouts to contact 414-935-7360. If you'd like to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS or with the P3 Tips app.
