Bode Miller & Wife Welcome Twins Following Daughter's Tragic Death

Bode Miller and his wife, Morgan Beck, have welcomed their twins to the world just one year they tragically lost their two-year-old daughter. The Olympian announced the news on Tuesday during a call-in to the "Today" show. He revealed Morgan, who is a professional beach volleyball player, gave birth to their twin boys on Friday, November 8th and although everyone's healthy, it didn't go off without a hitch. Bode Miller told the "Today" hosts that his wife gave birth at home before any of the midwives made it to help out.

“They finally arrived! They had us waiting and waiting and waiting, driving Morgan crazy/ She carried them full term," the proud dad stated before jumping into the scary story. “The birth story was actually one of the more crazy things that I’ve ever experienced … none of the midwives actually made it on time." The Olympic skier credited his mom for helping them through the birth. “They started coming over and by the time they got there, me and my mom were both holding the babies. Luckily my mom was a midwife but she hadn’t delivered babies in 20-plus years and she’d never delivered twins," he stated. Bode also said that under the circumstances he and his wife were "pretty relaxed and pretty casual, but we were certainly not qualified to be doing that unassisted home delivery of twins," he joked.

Meet The Twins!

The athlete couple also shared the first photos of their twin boys on the show. In one snap, Morgan just gave birth and has both sons on her chest. In another, it shows a close-up of the babies wrapped up with one newborn smiling sweetly. A third photo shows Bode Miller holding the twins with a big old smile across his face. Morgan Beck shared the pics too with an adorable caption. "November 8th✨ A day that couldn’t have been scripted and aligned more perfectly to bring these two into the world. Birth story is mind blowing and can’t wait to share. Insanely overwhelmed and grateful for all these gifts my baby girl keeps sending," she wrote.

The Devastating Loss:

Just last week, Morgan paid tribute to their late daughter, Emmy, on what would have been their toddler's third birthday. As The Blast reported, Bode Miller and Morgan Beck's daughter died in June 2018 after drowning in a neighbor's pool during a party at just 19 months old. When paramedics got to the scene they tried "advanced life support" but were unable to save their little girl. Revealing their devastating loss the day after Emmy's passing, she wrote, "We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten." She also asked for privacy "during this painful time."

The twins aren't the first children the couple has welcomed since their daughter's tragic death. Months later, Morgan gave birth to a son and opened up about the "guilt" and "fear" she felt while being pregnant during the devastating loss. She also credited her son to helping her cope with Emmy's passing. Besides the twins, Bode and Morgan share Easton Vaughn Rek, 13 months, and Nash Skan, 4, plus Bode’s son Samuel Bode, 6, and daughter Neesyn Dacey, 11.
