Bobby Brown and Bel Biv DeVoe Come to Blows in ‘The New Edition Story’

BET’s The New Edition Story premiered Part 1 of its three-part series, which chronicles the boy band’s start, voting Bobby Brown out of the group, the formation of Bell Biv DeVoe, inflated egos, and lots of really great outfits.

Opening on their Home Again tour in New Mexico, in 1997, it was anything but homey. Egos were pushed to the limit and when Bobby let his set go on for way too long, Bel Biv Devoe decided it was their prerogative to get him off the stage.

After Bobby felt the sting of Bel Biv DeVoe’s poison, he decided his song was better than theirs and that they needed to cool down, grabbing the nearest fire hose available. But he wasn’t a firefighter and had no idea how to turn it on, bringing chaos to the stage — and kicking this series off to an explosive start.

The New Edition Story: Part Two airs tomorrow (Wednesday) on BET at 9 p.m.
