"I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time," Carter's mother, Jane Carter, said in a statement.

Bobbie Jean Carter, sister of Nick and Aaron Carter, died Saturday morning in Florida. She was 41.

"I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time," her mother, Jane Carter said in a statement to TMZ on Saturday.

Bobbie Jean's brother Aaron Carter died last year at age 34 from an accidental drowning caused by the effects of alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax, and inhaling compressed air. In 2012, their sister Leslie died of an apparent overdose at age 25.

Jane Carter did not reveal Bobbie Jean's cause of death.

"When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement, but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private," she continued in her statement, adding, "[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious 8-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."

Angel Carter posted a tribute to her older sister Sunday morning on Instagram with a call to "cultivate a society where seeking mental health support is met with understanding and encouragement."

"You had a great sense of humor, and a lively spirit," Angel wrote of Bobbie Jean. "Growing up, I was your baby, and you were my best friend. Life wasn’t fair to you, that I know. Sometimes, it feels like you didn’t have a shot, no matter what."

She continued, "Experiencing innocence instead of being burdened by trauma, pain, and suffering is incredibly important for children, particularly at such a young age. I know why Leslie, Aaron, and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did. I share that pain we experienced during our childhood and I’m sorry you didn’t have an opportunity for a better life."

Bobbie Jean Carter worked as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for Aaron Carter's tours in the early 2000s, and was featured on the family's E! reality series, House of Carters, which ran for one season in 2006. She also struggled with addiction and substance abuse, TMZ reports, though she lived her life mostly away from the spotlight. She is survived by her daughter, Bella.
