Nearly two years after his death, Bob Saget is inspiring happy memories from his wife, his friends, and his one-time date, Katie Couric.

The former Today show host relaunched her iHeartPodcast Next Question on Tuesday, with the new season including a fresh "Katie Plus One" interview format in which she is joined by a co-host and a guest. For the launch, Saget's widow, Kelly Rizzo, served as co-host with John Stamos as their guest. During their conversation, the trio recalled fond memories of the comedian — including his short-lived romance with Couric.

"I had a date with him once, as you know. I really liked him," she told Rizzo. "I found him so cute and funny and amusing. And I did think we shared a pretty nice kiss in the foyer of my apartment, but…"

"He always thought you were lovely," Rizzo insisted. "He was a big fan. He adored you."

"Well not enough to call me again," Couric joked. "But that's okay, because it all worked out. He found the love of his life with you."

The duo then welcomed Stamos into the conversation, who was quick to weigh in on the brief relationship between Saget and Couric.

"Katie, if you and I went out instead of you and Bob, we'd probably still be dating," he teased, earning a laugh from Couric. "Just don't tell my wife."

"Well, you didn't ask, John. And I don't think you were available at the time," she reminded him.

Stamos went on to say that he recalled Saget's interest in Couric — and said he even offered him some advice ahead of their date.

"I think he was intimidated by you," Stamos said. "I used to have to Cyrano him. Like I would tell him what to text and what to say, and what to do on these dates. I should have gone back to my texts and seen, because I feel like I was texting him, 'Don't blow it. Act smart around Katie. She's a very intelligent woman, she's not just beautiful. Be careful, Bob.' And you guys kissed, right?"

"We did," Couric confirmed. "And as Kelly knows, he was a good kisser."

"I know too," Stamos chimed in. "There are three of us here that have kissed him."

He later compared his relationship with Saget to that of an old married couple: "We didn't have sex and we argued all the time."

Saget starred as Danny Tanner and Stamos as Jesse Katsopolis for eight seasons of Full House and five seasons of revival series, Fuller House. Saget, also known for America's Funniest Home Videos, How I Met Your Mother, and his raunchy stand-up specials, died Jan. 9, 2022, after falling and hitting his head in a hotel room in Orlando. He was 65, and is survived by Rizzo and his three daughters with his first wife, Sherri Kramer.

Stamos has since spoken openly about his long-lasting friendship with Saget, and addresses the relationship further in his new memoir, If You Would Have Told Me. Speaking with Rizzo and Couric, he called writing the book "my way of being close to him again." Later in the conversation, Rizzo assured Stamos that Saget would have been "proud."
