Bob Dylan will mark the 45th anniversary of his famed 1978 concerts in Tokyo — immortalized on the live album Bob Dylan at Budokan — with a reissue boasting two complete gigs from his Nippon Budokan Hall stand.

The Complete Budokan 1978 features the entire February 28 and March 1 concerts from the venerable Tokyo venue; Bob Dylan at Budokan previously only contained highlights from the two shows, but The Complete Budokan marks the first time any of Dylan’s complete performances from his 1978 world tour have been officially available.

While Dylan played eight nights at the Nippon Budokan Hall, only the February 28 and March 1 shows were recorded on 24-channel multi-track analog tape; of The Complete Budokan 1978’s 58 tracks, 36 were previously unreleased.

Ahead of the reissue’s November 17 release, hear the unreleased “The Man in Me” from the March 1st show:

“The completed album documents the remarkable sound of the legendary Budokan shows that are forever etched in history,” Heckel Sugano, the CBS Sony product manager for Bob Dylan in Japan at the time of the recordings, said in a statement. “We tried to faithfully reproduce the sound the Japanese audience would have heard in the concert hall.”

Using the original 24-channel multi-tapes, a new remix of the recordings was created. “We mixed the record with the keyword ‘passion’ in mind. The result is a mix that surpasses the original 1978 release, providing a crisper and clearer sound where each instrument and Bob Dylan’s voice are distinctly audible,” chief engineer Tom Suzuki added.

The Complete Budokan 1978 will be released November 17 as a 4-CD set and — in keeping with the original spirit of the original live album — a Japan-only 8-LP vinyl box; Bob Dylan at Budokan was initially issued exclusively in Japan in 1978 before worldwide demand necessitated a global release the following year.

Additionally, for those vinyl lovers in the States, Dylan will also have the 2-LP Another Budokan 1978, collecting 16 unreleased recordings from the two Tokyo shows. Check out Dylan’s store to preorder.
