With Bob and David sketch: Paul F. Tompkins tries to give up red meat
New Year’s resolutions tend to be lofty, especially in the universe of Bob Odenkirk and David Cross’ new Netflix show, W/ Bob & David: In an exclusive clip from the upcoming sketch series, a group of guys sit around a poker table and share how they’re planning to make a big-budget blockbuster, run for pope, and launch a successful cell phone company. The most ridiculous goal though? Paul F. Tompkins’ declaration that he’s cutting out red meat.
Despite the fact that Tompkins says he’ll die if he doesn’t cut out red meat, his buds still aren’t having it. They refuse to order him a pizza sans pepperoni; they cheer for everyone else’s resolutions but Tompkins’. When he points out how unsupportive they’re being, Odenkirk matter-of-factly responds, “That’s because it’s insane!”
W/ Bob & David is Odenkirk and Cross’ second TV show together: The first was HBO’s Mr. Show, another sketch series that became a fan favorite among comedy enthusiasts over its four-season run from 1995 to 1998.
