Ten brand new episodes of the lovable Australian Blue Heeler dog “Bluey” dropped on Disney+ this month, paving the way for the latest season of the children’s program to earn a rare spot on the streaming leaderboard for the week of Jan. 15 – Jan. 21, according to the Samba TV Weekly Wrap.

Whether it’s educational videos for toddlers or a family-friendly film for movie night, streaming platforms like Disney+ are succeeding at providing a wide range of choices for on-demand children’s content. This trend is likely to continue as millennial parents look to provide entertainment and educational content for their children. In fact, two out of three streaming parents subscribe to a streaming service just for their kids, and Disney+ is the most popular choice.

In first place on the streaming charts this week is Amazon Prime Video’s “Reacher,” which has been a reliable hit for the platform since it debuted in December. Amazon also notched another spot on the leaderboard, securing the No. 7 spot with the film “Role Play,” starring Kaley Cuoco and David Oyelowo.

Netflix’s “Lift” starring Kevin Hart rose to second place this week. In the No. 3 spot is “American Nightmare,” a new three-part true crime documentary based on the 2015 kidnapping of Denise Huskins and the police’s subsequent botched response, which resonated with millennial households (adults aged 25-34) more than any other demographic. Millennials over-indexed by 5% on the premiere viewership of the series in its first five days available to stream.

“Fool Me Once” fell to No. 4 from the top of the charts last week, followed by Disney+’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” which rose to the middle of the pack, up from No. 7 last week.

“Queenpins,” the comedy inspired by a true story starring Kristen Bell, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Paul Walter Hauser and Vince Vaughn secured the No. 6 spot. “The Equalizer 3” came in at No. 9, while “Detective Forst’ rounded out the final spot on the streaming charts.

On broadcast television, “Fire Country” scored the top telecast of the week for CBS. The network also secured the No. 4 spot with an episode of “NCIS.” While award shows have seen ratings decline in recent years, FOX landed in second place for its airing of the “75th Annual Emmy Awards” show hosted by Anthony Anderson.

The season premieres of “Chicago Med” and “Chicago Fire” scored for NBC, at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively. Boomer households (adults aged 65-74) over-indexed by over 20% across both premieres. Season 23 of “Law and Order” also kicked off on the network, and earned the No. 8 spot this week, while “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” rounded out the final spot. Meanwhile, ABC had three telecasts of the legendary game show program “Wheel of Fortune” comprise spots on the leaderboard.
