'Blue Bloods' Star Jennifer Esposito Has A Message For Fans Who Want Her To Come Back

Actress Jennifer Esposito continues to be sorely missed on "Blue Bloods" by fans of the show even though she has been on it as Det. Jackie Curatola for nearly eight years. On Friday, she let those fans know that their continued support for her is appreciated and that she still loves them all.

A fan tweeted a screencap of a PopCulture.com article titled "'Blue Bloods' Fans Continue to Miss Jennifer Esposito Following Controversial Exit" with the message, "@JennifersWayJE We need her back on @BlueBloods_CBS @DonnieWahlberg."

More fans flocked to the comments with their thoughts on Esposito. One noted how much she's missed on "NCIS" as well.

"She’s definitely missed on #NCIS ...I Alex Quinn! She was a strong & funny character who had perfect chemistry with everyone on the team, esp. Bishop. Still miss her & still salty about how she was written out with a throwaway, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it line & never spoken of again," the fan wrote.

"Would be nice to see her come back and kinda start a feud with Baez or fall in love with Danny would love to just have her back she was great on the show," another fan said.

"And we always will miss you!! My kids stopped watching after you left. I still watch off & on. Not the same," someone added.

"I watch the show literally everyday. You will always be my favorite! They made a horrible mistake letting you go. My mom and I talk about this all the time!" said another viewer.

Esposito left the show in 2012 after she was unable to work due to complications from Celiac disease. At the time, she tweeted her issues with CBS putting her on medical leave.

"CBS PUT me on unpaid leave an has blocked me from working anywhere else after my doctor said u needed a reduced schedule due to celiac," she wrote. "CBS didn't listen to my doc and I collapsed on set. Which everyone saw! After a week off, my doc said I could return to work but CBS implied that I was NOT truly ill and this was a scheme to get a raise! It's been almost two months without brining me back to work + keeping Me from working anywhere else!… Absolutely shameful behavior."

CBS released a statement in response:

"Jennifer has informed us that she is only available to work on a very limited part-time schedule. As a result, she's unable to perform the demands of her role, and we regretfully had to put her character on a leave of absence. She is a wonderfully talented actress, and we hope that she will be able to return at some point in the future."
