'Blue Bloods' Fans, Here's What We Know About the Show's Future

Blue Bloods fans will need to find other plans for their Friday nights for the foreseeable future. The mid-season finale of the beloved CBS drama aired on May 17, and the remaining eight episodes of season 14 won't air until fall.

Donnie Wahlberg, dressed as his character Danny Reagan, addressed fans in a video from set. He said, "Blue Bloods fans, thanks for being a part of our amazing season, but we still have more to go. Trust me, it's unforgettable and full of family drama. Don't miss the final season of Blue Bloods coming this fall on CBS. See you soon."

Fans unloaded in the comments section, leaving messages like, "you guys have made an utterly idiotic decision to cancel the show! It’s still popular and this makes zero sense." Another wrote, "CBS, please please don't cancel this incredible and wonderful show. It's always been more than a show, it's family. The cast and crew work so well together on and off screen. Nobody is ready to say goodbye. Please don't end your best show and leave millions heartbroken. It's not too late to change your minds. Don't get rid of our Friday nights."

Another commenter added, "I will remain hopeful (and do what I can contacting CBS) that CBS will come to their senses and not cancel a heart-lifting program that we need AND that has good ratings and it’s so beloved!"

These upset viewers join the legion of fans who launched the Save Blue Bloods campaign. Even star Tom Selleck (Frank Reagan) has stern words for CBS. He told Country Living, "I think CBS will come to their senses...My hope is CBS wakes up to the fact that we're still winning the night on Friday night and performing on Paramount Plus."
