Xolo Maridueña is a star on the rise. Unless there's a bigger star like Selena Gomez directly next to him, in which case he's sitting right where he is and will then likely be cropped out of any and all paparazzi photos.

On his podcast with Jacob Bertrand, Lone Lobos, the Blue Beetle star opens up about the emotional scars of getting "Mike Wazowski'd" at the LAFC game last Sunday.

Maridueña points to an article about Gomez's wide-eyed fascination at the soccer game and how in the photo that runs with the article, Maridueña, who was sitting next to the Only Murders in the Building star and retired audience reaction queen, is conveniently cropped out, save for his shoulder.

"Dude, why did I get cut out right there. Wait, I'm pissed!" Maridueña exclaims, pointing to the photo.

"Yeah, I got f---ing Mike Wazowski'd, but not Tyga! But Tyga got to keep there?" he notes, referring to the rapper, who, in all fairness, also has Kardashian klout.

The uncropped picture shows Maridueña "scared" that Inter Miami's newest recruit Lionel Messi was going to score on LAFC, until he was denied by goalie John McCarthy.

"She's standing next to a superhero, bruh," Maridueña jokes. "Bro, the first brown superhero! She's gotta give some love. She has to come out with a statement."

In another article, he's also left out in favor of Gomez, Prince Harry, and "F---ing Mario Lopez."

The game turned out to be disappointing for many involved. LAFC ended up losing, 3-1. Gomez became a meme, no doubt influencing her post-VMA pledge of stillness at all future audience gigs. And Xolo Maridueña learned what some of us have always known, that you don't sit next to someone with nearly half a billion Instagram followers and expect not to be cropped out of a photo with them.

There was, however, one winner of the night: Tyga.
