Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that Blue Beetle will make its streaming debut on Max one week from now on Friday, November 17, 2023.
Blue Beetle hit United States theaters on August 18, 2023. Directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, the DC Studios made approximately $129.3 million at the worldwide budget with an estimated budget of $104 million.
What is DC Studios’ Blue Beetle about?
“Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it,” the official synopsis reads. “As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.”
With a screenplay written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, Blue Beetle stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, Belissa Escobedo as Milagro Reyes, Bruno Marquezine as Jenny Kord, Raoul Max Trujillo as Ignacio Carapax, Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, George Lopez as Rudy Reyes, Damián Alcázar as Alberto Reyes, Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio Reyes, and Adriana Barraza as Nana.
Blue Beetle marks the penultimate entry in the DCEU, with December 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom then ending the shared universe before James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU begins in 2024 with Creature Commandos. Gunn previously confirmed that Maridueña will continue to play Jaime in the DCU.
Produced by John Rickard and Zev Foreman, Blue Beetle hits Max on November 17, 2023. The movie is also currently available to purchase on physical media or through digital outlets.
