All TV shows must come to an end — except, apparently, "The Simpsons" — and this year, dozens of them did.
Some were embarrassing misfires, such as "The Paul Reiser Show," which was axed from NBC's lowly lineup after just two episodes. (Heck, even Mario Lopez's hated "H8R" got to air four.) Others, however, were carefully crafted conclusions, such as the tear-jerker finales of "Friday Night Lights" or "Rescue Me." And somewhere in between were the critical hits that just couldn't build a big enough audience ("Lights Out," "Men of a Certain Age").
But apart from the contrasting circumstances, one thing stands out above all else: It is a bloodbath out there, people! What follows is a list of 88 shows — yes, EIGHTY-EIGHT shows — that called it quits in 2011, whether by choice or by network decree.
If you're anything like us, you'll find yourself thinking, "Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that show!" And in many cases, that explains why it's no longer around.
