The Colbert Report ends on Dec. 18. Until then we'll be counting down each remaining episode with a post looking back at our favorite moments.

When actress Jane Fonda and activist Gloria Steinem came on the Colbert Report in 2006 to discuss their women's radio network, Stephen Colbert was ready — to cook.

The Colbert Report's host insisted that the two icons join him in his TV kitchen to whip up some apple pie in a sequence he dubbed Cooking With Feminists. Stephen: 1, feminists: 0. While it could have been a recipe for disaster, the two good-natured guests were totally on board.

The Monster in Law star even locked lips with Colbert after he donned a "Kiss the Cook" apron.

"Gloria, if you'll grab some of those Macintosh apples and explain to me what is the state of American feminism?" Colbert asks. "Like this apple, it's extremely healthy… meant for everyone," Steinem shoots back.

Later, Fonda spoons ice cream into first Steinem's and then Colbert's mouth. "Mmmm, that is an ice cream three-way," Colbert says.
