A night out in scenic Ibiza turned nasty for two tourists: Justin Bieber and Orlando Bloom.
The odd pair reportedly came to blows at Cipriani, a restaurant and bar overlooking the Spanish harbor, as fellow patrons including Leonardo DiCaprio, who was there with Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, Diddy, and Paris Hilton looked on. The British actor, 37, is said to have thrown a punch at Bieber, 20, who ducked and avoided the swing.
While there is lots of speculation over why Legolas would want to take out the "Baby" singer (and also lots of praise being offered to him for trying to do it), here's what we know for sure…
What went down? Yahoo can confirm that the men had an altercation at the restaurant, which is in the Ibiza Gran Hotel. Grainy footage of Orlando appearing to take a swing at Bieber appeared on Instagram soon after and so did 30 seconds of video from the conclusion of the fight, during which Bieber can be heard saying what sounds like, "What's up, b---h?" to Bloom as their entourages stood between them. Page Six reports that Bloom — who, funny enough, recently picked up a trophy at the MTV Movie Awards for Best Fight in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug — took aim after Bieber "made a rude comment" about the actor's soon-to-be ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, 31. A lot of "tough-guy shoving" then occurred before they were separated. However, a source close to Bieber tells Yahoo that he wasn't the one who started trouble. It was Bloom who was openly hostile to the young star and took a swing at him, and innocent Bieber, who is pals with boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, just reacted. And while it was said that Bieber was ushered out of the restaurant after the fight, the source said that he actually stayed for a little while with friends before leaving voluntarily. Also worth noting: Cipriani patrons reportedly cheered for Bloom for trying to take out Bieber, who can't seem to stay out of trouble these days. (Reps for Bloom and Bieber have not responded to Yahoo's request for comment about the incident.)
How does Miranda Kerr factor into this? Whether the Kerr comment was made before or after Bloom took his swing, the Australian beauty seems to be a sore spot between the guys. In November 2012, Kerr met Bieber when he performed at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. While it seemed innocent enough — the catwalker told reporters she was thrilled to meet the "Boyfriend" singer because Flynn, her 3-year-old son with Bloom, had "Bieber fever" — there were reports that they partied together all night at a NYC hotel. Then, last fall, around the time Bloom and Kerr announced their separation, Us Weekly reported that Miranda and Justin had been exchanging text messages. Make that dirty text messages. Yep.
What did Bieber post on social media after his spat with Bloom? After the physical altercation, Bieber reportedly took their spat online. In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, he is said to have posted this photo of Kerr, in a bikini, on Instagram with a crown as the caption, but later deleted it. Bieber's all about the "kinging" references, often using that emoticon when he's climbing onto his private jet, headed on a luxe trip, or other times he feels he's dominating. Shortly thereafter, Bieber posted a simple "Keeping it positive" note on Twitter. No word on whether or not Bloom even saw the pic or the tweet as he's not on social media. Kerr hasn't spoken out either, but she posted two photos to Instagram Thursday. The first showed her, with her back to the camera, walking with Flynn. The second is a sultry shot for her new 7 For All Mankind ad campaign. She's topless, wearing just jeans, in a bathtub.
Later in the day, Bieber took to Instagram again and posted a photo of Bloom rubbing his eye, which made it look as if the actor had been crying. 15 minutes later, the post had disappeared. In case you missed it, we got a screengrab.
Does Selena Gomez have a role in any of this? Maybe. Earlier this year, Bloom was spotted hanging out with Bieber's ex, 22, on multiple occasions. One of those times was a Saturday night in April when they were seen outside a performance of Chelsea Hander's stand-up show in L.A. They were sitting on a curb and did not appear thrilled to be photographed together — as Orlando's face will tell you. As soon as the flashbulbs started popping, Bloom quickly walked away. (Gomez's rep had no comment about the spat between Bieber and Bloom.)
What will happen next for Bieber and Bloom? We'll have to wait and see. But Bieber has so many legal woes back in the United States — he just met with his probation officer for the first time this week — that it would be best to leave this beef overseas.
