It may be Independence Day weekend, but Jessica Simpson is celebrating quite the opposite.

The fashion mogul wed Eric Johnson on Saturday, July 5, in the rose gardens at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. (Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, and Melissa Etheridge and Linda Wallem are just a few of the celebs who have gotten married here.) The bride wore a custom champagne and gold strapless gown by Carolina Herrera. Simpson walked down the aisle by herself and the ceremony was presided over by her father and former pastor, Joe Simpson.

Simpson, 33, and Johnson, 34, have two children together: daughter Maxwell, 2, who served as the flower girl, and son Ace, 13 months, who was the couple's ring bearer.

"We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment," the newlyweds told People in a statement. "To say 'I do' in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives."

In addition to Simpson's famous family members, more than 250 guests witnessed the much-anticipated nuptials, including Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, CaCee Cobb and Donald Faison, That '70s Show's Topher Grace and his girlfriend, and several of Johnson's football buddies.

The couple kicked off their wedding weekend with a Fourth of July BBQ bash also at San Ysidro Ranch, where guests enjoyed all the expected foods from baby back ribs and corn on the cob to ice cream and watermelon slices.

Last month, bridesmaid Ashlee Simpson — who is reportedly set to wed Evan Ross over Labor Day weekend — gushed about her big sister's "amazing taste" when it came to planning for the nuptials.

"My dress is really beautiful!" Ashlee told Us Weekly. "It's really, really stunning."

The former NFL player began dating Simpson in May 2010 after they were introduced by friends. Six months later they got engaged, but had to delay wedding plans (twice) due to her unexpected, back-to-back pregnancies.

The couple of four years said goodbye to single life — together — with a joint, co-ed bachelor-bachelorette bash in June. About 40 members of their inner circle joined Simpson and Johnson at Eveleigh in West Hollywood, where many "touching toasts" were given from both sides of the marital aisle, according to ABC News.

Surely that was just a warm up for the big day.

This is the second marriage for both Simpson and Johnson.

Johnson was previously wed to Keri D'Angelo. He met Simpson while waiting for their divorce to be finalized.

Simpson was married to Nick Lachey for three years before calling it quits in 2005. Fans got a glimpse inside their relationship thanks to the MTV series, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.

We highly doubt there will be a Newlyweds: Jessica & Eric anytime soon... but here's hoping!
