Ivanka Trump Wears Ivana's Bob Mackie Dress — Nearly 23 Years Later

On the list of perks of being a Trump, Ivanka can add having access to a complete vintage wardrobe.
The 32-year-old designer and real estate developer shopped in her mother Ivana's closet for an outfit to wear to a wedding Saturday at Manhattan's Rainbow Room. Her dress selection? A high-neck, fringed Bob Mackie number in neutral hues of white, gold, and black.
"Last night in my mother's vintage Bob Mackie dress," the mom of two posted on Instagram Sunday night. "It's a good thing she's not on Instagram! A daughter's never too old to clandestinely raid her mother's closet! Shhhhh...#latergram."
It was nearly 23 years ago that Ivana, now 65, first stepped out in the sparkling frock. In November 1991, the Czech-American socialite attended a party in the dress at a time when she was in the middle of her high-profile divorce from Donald, who had been caught cheating with Marla Maples, and everything she and her ex were doing was making major headlines. The blonde paired the glitzy gown with black panty hose and heels, styled her banged locks up in a bit of a cockatoo 'do, and wore long dangly earrings — a head-turning ensemble that reminded the world she wasn't cowering in her divorce from the real estate mogul, with whom she was battling over his fortune, which was estimated at the time as being between $1.7 billion and $4 billion.

Ivana's revenge look fell in line with her famed motto, "Remember ladies, Don't get mad, get everything."
Ivanka's modern look for her evening out with husband Jared Kushner was toned down in comparison to her mother's '90s style. The dress appears to be untouched as far as design, but she styled her hair in a sleeked-back look, rocked subtle studded earrings, and painted her lips red.
And reminded us that what's old can be new again — and look pretty darn great!
