This week, Yahoo TV welcomes Rainn Wilson as our very first guest editor! Check back all week for videos and curated TV picks from the actor/writer/art collector/star of Fox's upcoming drama Backstrom.

Are you still experiencing withdrawal symptoms from the end of HBO's Prohibition drama Boardwalk Empire? Quench your thirst by returning to the same era — albeit on a different continent — with Netflix's Peaky Blinders, a BBC-made crime series set in the aftermath of World War I. The year is 1919 and the place is Birmingham, England, the home of crime boss Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his titular gang of miscreants and malcontents. Having served as tunnel-diggers during the war, their post-traumatic stress disorder has driven them into lives of crime. (Fun fact: The name "Peaky Blinders" refers to the style of hatwear favored by members of the gang — flat caps with peaked tops.) Over the course of the show's first two seasons — a third is on the way — Tommy seeks to consolidate his grip on Birmingham, while avoiding the long arm of the law in the form of top cop, Chester Campbell (Sam Neill).

But don't take our word for Blinders's binge-worthiness; Yahoo TV guest editor (and star of the new Fox series Backstrom) Rainn Wilson calls it his new favorite show. "Cillian Murphy is like a young Al Pacino from The Godfather Part II," he raves. "I also love the way the show uses music. They use a lot of Nick Cave songs and they weave the theme song in and out of the story, so it's kind of part music video. It's very violent, it's very unpredictable, and it's just a world I haven't seen before."

The first two seasons of Peaky Blinders are available to stream on Netflix.
