Fans of Futurama are more used to waiting for their show to make a comeback than most; the cartoon produced four different series finales, after all. And at long last, the event that those faithful many have awaited for 15 years is finally here: the Simpsons/Futurama crossover.
The crossover couch gag begins with the classic Planet Express flyover title card; the text at the bottom reads "A show out of ideas teams up with a show out of episodes." The family then crowds onto the couch, which turns out to be Hedonismbot (naturally). Marge and the kids immediately jump off, but Homer — whose gluttony makes him a perfect fit for a robot devoted to pleasure — sticks around to get oiled, massaged, fed grapes.
You may or may not recognize Hedonismbot's voice: It belongs to Maurice LaMarche, a veteran voice actor who has portrayed dozens of characters on The Simpsons alone. (He's best known as Brain from Pinky and the Brain.)
This is actually not the first time Futurama's been on the couch. Back in season 12, one Philip J. Fry made an appearance back when the sci-fi show was still new. This crossover follows the hourlong season premiere crossover of The Simpsons and Family Guy. Are there any other animated series out there you're hoping they meet up with? American Dad? Bob's Burgers? Adventure Time? Mike Tyson Mysteries? Let us know below.
The Simpsons crossover with Futurama airs Sunday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
