When's It Back? Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. on NBC
Where We Left Off: With plenty of Braverman family drama, as usual. Zeek and Camille packed up the family home and prepared to downsize to a (let's face it, still gorgeous) townhouse. Haddie came home from college with a lesbian girlfriend. The icy separation between Joel and Julia showed tiny signs of thawing. And Amber met Ryan's nightmare of a mother in his hospital room… and took a pregnancy test.
What We Know About Season 6: Well, we know it's the final season, and TV's most emotionally rich drama is going out the way it came in: tugging on our heartstrings. Amber is indeed pregnant, as a very spoiler-y promo already confirmed, so another little Braverman is on the way. (And that means Sarah's becoming a grandmother! Bet she'll love that.)
But Parenthood giveth and Parenthood taketh away: Showrunner Jason Katims has said the final season will grapple with "the circle of life," which strongly implies that someone from the Braverman clan won't survive to see the series finale. Will patriarch Zeek finally succumb to the heart troubles that dogged him a few seasons back? Plus, Sarah's relationship with Hank (Ray Romano) faces a new hurdle, with Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt reprising her role as Hank's ex-wife Sandy.
Our Burning Question: Can we please, please, pretty please see Joel and Julia back together and happy before the show ends? Watching their picture-perfect marriage fall apart last season was excruciating, not to mention puzzling. (Why did Joel become such a jerk all of a sudden?) We fully expect to cry when the series finale rolls around, of course... but we want them to be happy tears.
