'My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic' First Look: Things Take a 'Fear and Loathing' Turn

"My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic" continues to delight with some of the most random pop culture references on TV, and we've got an exclusive sneak peek at a fun one from this week's episode, "Three's a Crowd" (Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10:30 a.m.), that we think the bronies and pegasisters will love.

As Twilight Sparkle and Cadence set out for an adventure in Ponyville, Discord appears ... as "Fear and Loathing" scribe Hunter S. Thompson. The kids might not catch the quick reference, but it's pop culture Easter eggs like this that keep the more mature fandom going.

Here's The Hub's official description of "Three's a Crowd":

As Twilight Sparkle eagerly anticipates the arrival of Princess Cadance, Discord dishes up quite the dreadful disruption when he arrives and begs the ponies to take care of him while he is sick. But when Discord's diva-like demands get ridiculously out of hand, Twilight's generosity and friendship skills are put to the test during her special weekend.

"My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" airs Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. on The Hub Network.
