When's It Back? Thursday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. on ABC

Hello, Season 11! Even after all these years, we still expect — and look forward to — another season of on-call room hook-ups, awkward moments on elevators, and O.R. blunders that make us vow to never, ever get sick in Seattle.

Where We Left Off: Sayonara, Cristina Yang (and Shane)! The finale was all out with Meredith's "person" and in with… Meredith's surprise half-sister?! In one of the finale's last moments, new cardio-doc Maggie offers Richard the 411 that she was adopted and her bio-mom's name is all over the hospital: Ellis Grey. And given one look at her, there's little question who her father is. Whoa.

Derek was ready to sign on the dotted line for a townhouse in Washington, D.C. (he's working for the President, you know), but Mer is not ready to be a "trailing spouse" like her father. She's staying in Seattle, end of story.

Alex took a job in the private sector, and while he's making way more money, he seems kinda miserable about it. Things took a turn for him, though, when Cristina left him her seat on the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital board, as well as her ownership shares. Newlyweds April and Jackson are expecting (which is great timing, as actress Sarah Drew announced her real-life pregnancy), and Callie and Arizona are likely about to begin the search for a surrogate.

What We Know About Season 11: Meredith is going to find out about her half-sister, Maggie; it's just a matter of how long that will take. Ditto Derek choosing his wife and kids over the career, as he spent most of Season 10 promising. It'll be a long road to that decision — maybe we'll even get to meet that President and maybe his last name will be Grant (just spitballin' here) — but surely, he will get there, even though creator Shonda Rimes told TVLine, "I'm not going to say that Meredith and Derek are never going to break up." Oh, and clearly, there will be babies.

Our Burning Question: With Yang gone, who is going to become Meredith's new person? Does Alex have the stomach for it? Is sister-in-law Amelia stable enough (for those who didn't watch Private Practice, Derek's little sister has struggled with some pretty major addictions)? Or will father figure Richard step in and stand beside her?
