'The Bachelor' Stars Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici Throw a 'Grown Sexy' Wedding

Oh, what a night! "The Bachelor: Sean and Catherine’s Wedding” marked the first-ever live telecast of a “Bachelor” wedding, and it didn’t disappoint. Sean Lowe and his not-so-blushing bride Catherine Giudici wanted a "grown sexy" wedding (her words), and it turned out to be everything you'd want in a TV wedding: a giggly bride, a blubbering groom, and Chris Harrison cutting to commercial.

So what the heck is a "grown sexy" wedding, anyway?

"I want to look grown up and sexy," Catherine explained to anyone who would listen. With a Monique Lhuillier gown, Neil Lane bling, and hair by Jose Eber, we'd say it was mission accomplished! Sean didn't look too bad in a dapper Dolce & Gabbana tux, either.

So how do you top an exotic engagement in Thailand? Pull out all the stops in the States with a lavish ceremony at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore in Santa Barbara, complete with a glammy gold theme, a ton of huge flowers (not a red rose in sight!), and a congregation full of "Bachelor" alums.

Check out our favorite moments from Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici's made-for-TV wedding.

Before the big day

A taped montage of the couple's courtship, engagement, and wedding planning culminated with an awkward segment featuring Sean lingerie shopping. While he seemed baffled by a full caged body suit with "easy access," he knew his stuff when it came to garters. The happy groom left with a full shopping bag and a countdown 'til wedding night. His bride-to-be’s priceless description of her lingerie loot: "It's like fancy icing for my body."

Guest list with a twist

The guest list for the bash boasted a slew of familiar faces — including bridesmaid Lesley Murphy, who once broke a kissing record with the groom on one of their "Bachelor" dates. (They locked lips for a whopping three minutes and 15 seconds!) Yes, this group is tight-knit.

Successful "Bachelor" couples Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, and Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenberg were featured prominently at the festivities. Trista's wish for the newlyweds: "I love welcoming more of the 'Bachelor' family into marital happiness," she said.

And while Sean's "Bachelorette" buddies — Indy driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Season 8 winner Jef Holm — were also in the house, there was no sign of Emily Maynard, the woman they all once vied for. Of course, the live cameras just "happened" to catch Maynard's former suitors pondering whether or not she was invited to the wedding. Holm's response: "I don't know, to be honest. I don't think she’s coming, though. I don't know if it would be weird with her and Sean."

Who else did we spot? Sean's "Dancing With the Stars" co-star and "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Lisa Vanderpump, with her precious pooch Giggy the Pom. But noticeably missing from the gala was current "Bachelor" star Juan Pablo Galavis, who may have been asked to stay home following his controversial comments about gays last week. (He's since apologized, but live TV may not be his forte.)

Juan Pablo tweeted that he was watching the wedding, although his feed had an awful lot of Grammy-related tweets, too.

The vows

Who needs Chris Harrison when your dad is an ordained minister? Father of the groom Jay Lowe officiated the ceremony, while Catherine's mom Cynthia and dad Carey walked her down the aisle. (Fans of the show may recall that the bride once had a strained relationship with her dad.)

But let's get to the meat of the ceremony: the vows. While Sean's father started the ceremony by talking about what a wonderful son he had, the tears were totally flowing come vow time. Catherine proclaimed that her hubby-to-be was "a light to my bug" and added, "I can't wait to shine together and make everybody completely blind."

And a teary Sean told her: "We met in the strangest way possible ... I know that we met on 'The Bachelor' so that I could fall in love with my best friend ... I'm going to love you for eternity."

Awwww!

Next up for the newlyweds: "Consummation Station," the pet name for the Lowes' wedding night boudoir. In case you missed it, these kids decided to wait to consummate… although they better make sure those nosey "Bachelor" cameras aren't still parked outside of their honeymoon suite!
