Report: Claire Danes Suffers Side Effects From Eyelash Growth Product

When celebrities endorse products, there's the potential for side effects. Just ask the Kardashians, who angrily erased their names from a prepaid debit card after discovering it was shady. In Claire Danes' case, endorsing an eyelash growth treatment might have its own share of toxic consequences. Page Six reports that the actress has suffered persistent irritation around her eyes since using Latisse, a prescription eyelash grower from the purveyors of Botox.

While Danes says in an online video diary that she experienced redness for only a week after starting Latisse, a Page Six source claims the actress-spokeswoman's makeup artist has been forced to cake on concealer to hide bruise-colored areas on her skin. "It is hard to cover it up," added the source.

(Meanwhile, Danes' rep has slammed the story as false and threatened to take legal action against the gossip column.)

Celeb endorsement of unusual (and potentially embarrassing) products is nothing new. The zit-zapper Proactiv pay celebs good money to talk openly about their pimple problems; Justin Bieber was reportedly paid $3 million to tell the world that, yes, he gets acne, too.

Let's assume that Danes, as well as fellow Latisse ambassador Brooke Shields, also were paid millions for their somewhat random eyelash punditry. If Danes' side effects really are that bad, she likely has good incentive to ignore the skin discoloration, keep her mouth shut and cash her paychecks.

Cake on that concealer, Claire!
