Michael Kors To Marry Partner Lance LaPere

Now that gay marriage is legal in New York, Michael Kors intends to wed his longtime partner, Lance LaPere. Page Six confirms the couple -- spotted at the city clerk's office in Manhattan on Wednesday -- had picked up their marriage license.

"Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together," Kors says in a statement. "We have no plans for a major party, but we will be getting married privately."

The "Project Runway" fashion guru met LaPere in 1990 when he was an intern at his company; they live together in the West Village. However they decide to tie the knot, let's hope Kors trades his signature black turtleneck-and-sport coat ensemble for something spiffier. LaPere can just stand there, looking ridiculously handsome.
