Paul McCartney, Linkin Park, and Richard Branson Team Up to Launch Awareness-Raising Platform

By Laura Ferreiro

Does hanging out backstage with Paul McCartney or flying to Japan to meet Linkin Park float your boat? Then it's worth checking out the Urgency Network — an awareness-raising digital platform that offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences as a reward for taking action to support good causes.

By completing social actions like watching awareness videos, participating in mass tweeting campaigns, or donating to non-profit organizations, participants can earn points toward grand-prize drawings that include the above-mentioned prizes as well as things such as a meet-and-greet with Virgin boss Richard Branson. A video on the website hints that future prizes may include trips into outerspace, and our guess is that they'll be tied to Branson's space flight company.

In addition to these cool experiences, people can win music paraphernalia owned or signed by famous rockers.

The campaigns run the gamut — from saving the Arctic to supporting Linkin Park's Power the World Campaign, which helps people across the globe gain access to clean energy. Other prizes lined up so far include hanging back stage with Macca at the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, and a free flight to Japan to meet Linkin Park at the Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo.

The more actions people take, the more times they'll be entered to win the prizes. Plus it's free to participate. Sounds like a win-win to us!
