It appears Fantasia is taking the title of her new single, "Lose to Win," to heart, as the former American Idol winner has lost her house. A financial crunch forced her to transfer the deed of her $1.1 million North Carolina home back to the bank and she exits the deal empty handed.
Fantasia's financial troubles began back in 2009, when she had to borrow against the house to pay her taxes, nearly sending the home into foreclosure. Last year, she tried to sell the house -- once featured on the VH1 series Fantasia For Real -- for $800,000, considerably less than she paid for it, but apparently there were no takers.
Court documents say Fantasia transferred the deed over to the bank in February to avoid foreclosure, but the deal leaves her without the house, according to TMZ.
In a recent interview with omg! Insider, Fantasia said, "I lost a lot of things. I lost a lot of friends, a lot of family, lost a lot of money. I'm not sad about any of that. I wouldn't change any of it, because it made me the woman that I am today. It made me smarter and wiser and I now can share it with somebody else and say, 'Hey listen, no matter what you go through there's always that part when you'll win again.'"
In happier news, Fantasia just released her fourth album, Side Effects of You.
