Juno Awards watch: Victoria Duffield talks getting ready for her big night

Fashion is an important part of any awards show. To find the right look can become a daunting task, but is a challenge that new Canadian pop sensation, Victoria Duffield, welcomes with open arms.

"I always try to watch award shows because I like to see the fashion and what music is trending," Duffield told Yahoo! Canada Music during Canadian Music Week. "[However,] I don't know exactly what the whole style is for the Junos and how dressy everybody will go."

Juno Awards fashion is something that is constantly evolving and can sometimes be quite shocking. For example, remember Kardinal Offishall's orange suit and fur lined gold jacket from the 2011 Juno Awards? We sure do!

Duffield plans on taking a few risks of her own and has chosen a jumpsuit as part of her Juno attire. "It's a little bit different," the pop star said. "It's a little trendy and a little dressy. It came with a tie [around the waist], so I am going to put a belt over it and I am thinking of big long, gold necklaces and wearing lots of bangles. Bracelets will be big for this outfit."

Even though Duffield is not nominated for a Juno Award this year, she is very excited to be participating in Juno Fan Fare and grateful for the opportunity to connect with her fans and hear about how her music has touched them.

"People have really taken me in and loved my music and I haven't even been out that long, I mean, my second single, ['Feel'], only just came out," Duffield said. "[Recently,] I had a fan cry when she met me and that was so crazy for me because I don't think of myself as any different. It is so neat to see that people see me as someone that they really want to meet. I appreciate their support and I am continuing to work hard for them and better my craft."

Duffield's third single will be released in May and she is expecting her EP to drop this summer. Until then, check out her new song, "Feel," and look for her this Sunday during the 2012 Juno Awards.
