Alanis Morissette on working with her husband Mario ‘MC Souleye’ Treadway

Canadian chanteuse Alanis Morissette has made her "Guardian Angel Tour" a family affair: she's asked her husband Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway to be her supporting act, and they're bringing their son Ever on the road.

However, touring together isn't the only musical thing the couple does together. In an interview with Billboard, Morissette reveals that she has also had a hand in her rapper husband's upcoming album.

"I've been wanting to collaborate with a rap artist for a long time but as you can imagine, with the bitches and hos orientation, it wasn't really an appropriate match," said Morissette, who married Treadway in 2010. "When I first met Souleye, I was a really big fan -- like super crushed out -- and I had no thought that we'd be able to even date. Writing songs with him has been amazing."

According to Billboard, the 38-year-old "You Oughta Know" hitmaker wrote five tracks with Treadway for his soon-to-be released album "Iron Horse Running," including tunes like "Whatever Nice Is," "Brother Where" and "Ego," which he is currently performing on tour.

In addition to being her opening act, Treadway also makes an appearance during his wife's set, performing their tune "Jekyll & Hyde" from the iTunes deluxe edition of Morissette's new album, "Havoc and Bright Lights."

"I'm really excited about the project!" Morissette said. Asked if her own rap skills would appear on Treadway's album, the songstress replied, "F--ck no! I am as white as it gets. It would be really awful. I'm so not a rapper!"

We've seen Morissette attempt to dive into the world of hip-hop before, when her parody of The Black Eyed Peas' "My Humps" hit the Internet in 2007. Back then, Morissette turned the "Monkey Business" album track into a piano ballad and created a video that paid homage to the original.

Of course, joining her husband on his new album is an endeavour more serious in nature, but who could pass up an opportunity to watch this amazing cover?
