Snackin’ With Sarah Sellers: ‘Idol’ Top 6 Results Night Viewing Nosh

Diehard "American Idol" viewers will remember Sarah Sellers as the geek-chic food blogger who made it to Hollywood Week last year. (Watch her Season 10 audition here.) Sarah has since continued her food-blogging, and has been cooking up scrumptious snack suggestions for any "Idol" viewing party and posting them here in Reality Rocks each week. She was also my special guest on a special South By Southwest version of "The Day After" in Austin last month, which you can watch HERE!

So last night, the top six Idols sang the songs of Queen. How did Sarah come up with tonight's results-show viewing recipe? "I was inspired by a combination of 'Fat-Bottomed Girls' and Freddie Mercury's love of champagne," she says. "Apparently champagne pairs perfectly with rich and fattening foods, so alas, tonight will not be a healthy night. But it's very tasty!"

Herbed Goat Cheese and Prosciutto-Wrapped Grissinis
Yields 8

Ingredients:
▪ 1/4 pd prosciutto , thinly sliced
▪ 2 oz fresh goat cheese
▪ 1 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
▪ 16 grissini breadsticks
▪ Bottle of your favorite champagne/sparkling wine for toasting

To assemble the breadsticks, set up a mini-assembly line. Start with the prosciutto, followed by the goat cheese, thyme, then the grissini. Using a butter knife, smear a small amount of goat cheese on each piece of prosciutto. Sprinkle with the thyme. Place two grissinis, starting at the top, on the prosciutto and wrap around until sealed

Sprinkle the breadsticks with the remaining thyme and serve with a cold glass of bubbly.

Bon appétit!
