Josh Krajcik was my favorite contestant of "The X Factor USA" Season 1, and although he didn't win, I was hoping that--like other Season 1 finalists Astro, Marcus Canty, Chris Rene, and of course winner Melanie Amaro--he'd eventually get signed by L.A. Reid's Epic Records. But that didn't seem to be in the cards, and Josh kept a fairly low profile after last year's finale. I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever hear an album from the burrito king. But I'm wondering no more--it turns out that Josh has been picked up by Simon Cowell's Sony-distributed Syco Music label, with his full-length Syco debut slated to come out in spring 2013!
However, Krajcik fanatics need not wait until then to hear new Josh music. Tonight, Thursday, he will return to "The X Factor" to perform his first single, "One Thing She'll Never Know," on the top eight results show, and his self-titled, independently released EP will be available on iTunes tonight after the broadcast. And interestingly, Josh has already uploaded the entire EP onto his YouTube channel. Listen to all four tracks in the playlist below:
The EP has an adult-contemporary, mellow-gold, Michael McDonald vibe to it, which would probably leave Demi Lovato feeling "bored," but I'm actually enjoying Josh's chilled-out, "listen at work" grooves as I sit here here in my Yahoo! cubicle. What do you think of Josh's EP? Are you excited to see him return to "The X Factor" tonight? Let me know.
