Having a bad day? We've got just the cure: Neil Diamond's brand-new single, "Something Blue," which is a failsafe antidote for whatever is ailing you.
The song has a classic, rollicking Diamond vibe, which alone would put anyone in a sunny mood. However, the new video adds an extra layer of feel-good: It features 10 adorable rescue puppies, two of which are Diamond's own adoptees.
Yahoo Music is all giddy to premiere the first look at "Something Blue" — if watching Diamond roll around in the grass with a pack of pups doesn't make you smile, we simply don't know what will!
"Something Blue" is the lead single from Diamond's upcoming album Melody Road, set for release Oct. 21. The record marks his first original studio release in six years and first since signing with Capitol Records. Acclaimed producers Don Was and Jacknife Lee co-produced the album.
Few artists hold as many accolades as Diamond in popular culture: The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is a member of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame; and is a recipient of the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the highest honors bestowed upon songwriters. He also owns a Golden Globe Award, 13 Grammy nominations, and 2009’s NARAS’s MusiCares Person of the Year award. In 2011, Diamond received the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor for his lifetime of contributions to American culture.
