The scene between Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Spock Prime (Leonard Nimoy) in J.J. Abrams' 2009 "Star Trek" reboot was pretty cool and all, but it could've been a lot more. To be honest, we were kind of disappointed that the meeting of the younger and older versions of the Chief Science Officer of the Enterprise wasn't a bit more ... combative. Really, who wouldn't want to see Spock vs. Spock, albeit in the most good-natured (and logical) way possible?
Well, the Spocks have been reunited as adversaries, though not as co-stars in this month's highly anticipated release, "Star Trek Into Darkness." Rather, Zachary Qunto and Leonard Nimoy are the stars of a new commercial for the Audi S7, one just chock-full of "Star Trek" references ... and beyond.

It's old-school vs. new-school as Quinto and Nimoy agree to meet at a country club for a few rounds of golf, with whoever arrives at the destination last having to pick up the lunch tab. Nimoy has to make do with his old and busted Mercedes-Benz CLS 550, which doesn't even have a trunk big enough to fit a set of golf clubs; Quinto, meanwhile, drives the new hotness, the Audi S7, easily reaching the club before his older counterpart.
True, it perhaps would've been funnier if the older man had driven the newer car, but then we probably wouldn't have had Nimoy breaking into an impromptu a cappella performance of "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" (really) ... or getting the last laugh by implementing a certain popular Vulcan ability.
This is fun stuff, whether you can afford an Audi S7 or not. And really, just how many summer movies has Audi scored deals with this year? It's also the car of choice for Tony Stark in "Iron Man Three," and it's probably safe to assume that it will be at least a background player in "Fast & Furious 6." Really, at this rate, don't be surprised if one even rolls by in the distance at some point during "Before Midnight."
"Star Trek Into Darkness" opens in the U.S. on May 17. An Audi S7 is available for purchase now at your local car dealer.
