Jennifer Lawrence Shows Less is More at ‘The Great Gatsby’ Premiere

Jennifer Lawrence was one of the many stars on hand for the world premiere of Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby," held in New York City Wednesday night. But while most of the celebs were going all out to look stylish, Lawrence instead wowed observers with a subtle, natural look.
Lawrence showed up on the black carpet (no red for the always-stylized Mr. Luhrmann) wearing almost no makeup, letting the simple beauty of her clear skin and luminous grey eyes speak for themselves with just a hint of lip gloss and eye shadow. She wore her dark blonde hair in a modest, combed-back style that stayed out of her face. And Lawrence kept her outfit simple as well, arriving in a black Viktor + Rolf gown with a simple shoulder accent and a plunging neckline that gave the gown a look that was sexy without overly flaunting Lawrence's assets.
If Jennifer Lawrence didn't resemble the ever-so-perfect Daisy Buchanan at the "Great Gatsby" premiere, there's no doubt that she would have turned more than a few heads at one of Jay Gatsby's parties with a look that was subtle and effortlessly sensual.
