Jared Harris has some experience as a professor, having played the most infamous one in all of literature — Moriarty — opposite Robert Downey Jr. in "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows." Plus, he's been around plenty of spooky stuff in movies like "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and last year's "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." So who's more qualified to lead a college class into the depths of the supernatural?
In "The Quiet Ones," Harris plays Professor Coupland, an expert in the paranormal who theorizes that the cause of unexplained events might come from inside the brain, rather than external forces. As an experiment, he introduces his class to Jane Harper, a seriously damaged young woman who seems to attract the weird and inexplicable. As Coupland and his student Brian (Sam Claflin) observe Jane, events turn from strange to downright deadly.
