Jaunt: Celebrity GetawaysEllen and Portia Take Toronto
Ellen DeGeneres, 53, and her wife Portia de Rossi turned a business trip in the Great White North into a getaway for two. Dressed for sightseeing, the couple was snapped strolling arm-in-arm along the streets of Toronto on Thursday.
The daytime talk show host, who will replace Oprah Winfrey's time slot in many markets next month, was one of many stars -- including Suzanne Somers and Marlee Matlin -- scheduled to speak at the Power of Women leadership conference in Toronto on Thursday and in Vancouver on Friday.
Meanwhile, back at home in L.A., Ellen has just launched another project for her many fans: a website about living vegan (or without animal products) as she and Portia do. Going Vegan With Ellen features a photo gallery of celebrity vegans, like Lea Michele, Mike Tyson, and more, plus vegan recipes and tips on handling social situations with non-vegans. I can see "Ellen" viewers stampeding the aisles of health food stores already!
