Carly Rae Jepsen dishes on her favorite Los Angeles hot spots
Carly Rae Jepsen doesn't have a "maybe" kind of love for Los Angeles. The Vancouver native gushes about her second home and all of her favorite hot spots in the new issue of Vanity Fair. "I like Los Angeles," says the 26-year-old "Canadian Idol" runner-up. "So many artistic people, and I just love the weather. Being a Canadian girl, my legs don't usually see that much sun!"

Luckily for the "Call Me Maybe" singer, it's just a quick 2-hour flight from her hometown — enough time in the air for a glass of either hot tea or Pinot Noir, "depending on my mood." Once she touches down in La La Land, Jepsen heads to the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood to drop off her bags. The hotel "is close to everything but also far enough away," she says. "It's very, very relaxing. And they always seem to spoil me rotten." And their room service is not too shabby either. When Jepsen gets those midnight munchies, "I go all out. I order whatever I'm craving. Late-night burgers are always a bad idea that you never fully learn your lesson from. And for breakfast, their smoothies are a must." As for the Sunset Marquis' beds, she considers them L.A.'s best-kept secret. "It's like sleeping on a cloud."

When it comes time for a shopping spree, there's no Rodeo Drive for Jepsen. Instead, the adorable singer — who's pals with fellow Canuck Justin Bieber — opts for more low-key and affordable spots … although she can't quite remember their names. "I am still so new to L.A., that I'll have to get back to you on exact places," she jokes. "I just roam. I like to mix and match vintage with designer. It's how I create my own style."

After the sun goes down, Jepsen heads out with pals to paint the town red. One of her favorite spots is the Smoke and Mirrors club inside the Standard Hotel, which is less than a mile down Sunset Boulevard from her hotel. And when the clubs shut down at 2 a.m., "we usually find our way to Kitchen 24 for a little after-party chat."

But as much as Jepsen likes L.A, she loves Vancouver, so she never stays in the Golden State for too long. "After a while I even miss the cold weather in Canada," she tells VF. "Who would have thought?!"
