The Los Angeles Lakers may have lost to the Sacramento Kings last Sunday night, but spectators still had a reason to celebrate. Directly across the street from the Staples Center, the Laker's home court, Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar played a quick secret show for Yahoo!'s Crash Concert series.
Hundreds of fans spilled onto the streets of 12th and Figureoa in Downtown Los Angeles to see the Dr. Dre protégé play songs from his highly-anticipated Aftermath/Interscope debut, "good kid, m.A.A.d city," on the eve of its release.
Earlier Sunday, the "Swimming Pools" rapper gave his Twitter followers a heads up about the free show. Kendrick's unconventional stage - the rooftop of a double-decker sightseeing tour bus — added to the evening's hype that drew attention from an Air Support Division helicopter and the evening news.
Stay tuned for Kendrick's Crash Concerts interview and performance to make its debut on Yahoo! In the meantime, check out the preview:
