David Duchovny’s Father-Daughter Date

Former "X-Files" star David Duchovny was spotted strolling through NYC hand in hand with his almost 12-year-old daughter Madelaine on Thursday night. How sweet is that?

Although the actor -- who also has an 8-year-old son named Kyd -- made headlines after he checked himself into a rehabilitation facility for "sex addiction" in 2008, he and his wife Tea Leoni worked through whatever their relationship problems were and their marriage appears to be back on track. Unfortunately, the same thing can't be said for his troubled "Californication" character, Hank Moody.

Fans of the Showtime series know that Hank is currently in hot water -- with his family and with the law. (The sex-obsessed writer is facing three years in prison now that he's been arrested for statutory rape.) As a result, his on-again/off-again girlfriend Karen, whom he had hoped to ride off into the sunset with, hates him, and so does his teenage daughter Becca. Of course, that hasn't stopped Duchovny's character from continuing to do stupid things on a regular basis, which means there is plenty more material for a fifth season of "Californication"! And if Duchovny gets his wish, the show might even live on for a little bit longer.

"I'd like to go six seasons," David tells E! Online. "I always thought six would be a good number ... 72 episodes would be right." But at age 50, Duchovny's not quite sure if viewers want to continue seeing him flaunt his bare bod on the sexy series. "That's probably why I should stop after six years," he laughs. "I don't know if I can hold up my backside for that long!"
