Miley Cyrus Brings Back Nose Piercing While Brother Trace Debuts Giant Scalp Tattoo

What's old is new again for Miley Cyrus, who has resurrected one of her former styles by bringing back her nose piercing! She's not the only person in the family sporting a new look though. Her brother, Trace Cyrus, made a bigger, bolder change to his rocker image with a massive — and we mean massive — new head tattoo.

After a bad start to the week because her latest movie, "LOL," was a major bust at the box office, Miley, 19, enjoyed a fun day out with her "Hunger Games" star boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, 22, on Thursday, during which they went shopping at American Apparel. ("Basic tee shopping spree," she tweeted). The singer-actress was dressed in a mint-colored floral kimono top and jeans, but it's her new nose ring that stood out. A silver hoop in her right nostril to be precise.

Miley first had her nose pierced back in 2009. Only 16, the "Hannah Montana" star tweeted a photo of herself with her mother, Tish, while sporting a tiny stud in her nose. After a while it seemed Miley had grown out her nose ring phase, ditching the stud completely. Earlier this year she even seemed to adopt a more sophisticated look for her red carpet appearances with Hemsworth as he promoted his blockbuster movie. No word on if her nose had to be pierced again, which seems likely, but the new nose ring is in the original spot. As far as other body art, Miley also had her belly button pierced at one point (in 2008) and has at least 10 tattoos, including one on her chest that says "just breathe."

Miley's body jewelry and art collections are small potatoes when compared to what her brother has going on. Most of 23-year-old Trace's body is covered in ink, including his entire torso, both arms, and neck. The most prominent though is his recent addition — a tattoo of a Native American chief on his scalp.

"Got my head tatted today! Excuse all the ink on my face. And yes this hurt!!!" Trace posted to Twitter on Tuesday, attaching a photo of the elaborate tat. Apparently, his latest session was a father-son tattooing adventure with his singer dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. The senior Cyrus, who also has a tattoo of a Native American (he's part Cherokee), got a back tattoo this time around, which Trace described as "gangster."

Apparently, Trace, who became engaged to actress Brenda Song last fall, isn't done with his scalp design — even though he appears to be running out of space on his body. He tweeted: "I can't wait till next week to tattoo the other side of my head!"
