Zac is back, and better than ever.
Sources confirm to omg! that Efron, best known for his clean-scrubbed "High School Musical" tenure, completed a stint in rehab five months ago.
Us Weekly reports that the 25-year-old actor was treated for cocaine and alcohol problems, which insiders also confirm to omg!.
So did Efron's substance abuse problems really come to a head on set of his film "Neighbors" in April, as TMZ reports?
Here is what we know:
"Zac didn't seem like himself," one on-set source tells omg!. "He would show up looking like he had been out partying the night before."
But it wasn't (old) Lindsay Lohan type behavior by any means, omg! is assured.
"It looked like he was going through a rough time," continues our source.
There was no immediate comment from Efron's rep on the rehab reports.
As for right now, it appears as if Zac is better than ever after seeking treatment.
"He's great and doing really well," sources close to the actor tell omg!. "He's really focusing on his career. You would have no idea he even had a problem by looking at his behavior today."
Zac's last public appearance was at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6 for the premiere of his latest film, "Parkland" where he appeared happy and healthy. (Then again … hasn't he always looked good?)
Following the premiere of "Parkland," the actor hung out at Grey Goose's afterparty at Soho House where he indeed passed on booze and didn't stay long.
Sources told omg! at the time that Zac arrived "looking a bit overwhelmed," but loosened up once his co-stars began to arrive. He spent the evening chatting with Colin Hanks.
E! Online first broke the news of Zac's rehab stint.
