In opening up about her Lyme disease diagnosis, Avril Lavigne told People that she "thought she was dying." Fortunately, Lavigne had someone there who had been through it all before to guide her: Yolanda Foster.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been dealing with the effects of chronic Lyme disease for the past three years. Foster tells Bravo's Daily Dish that she helped Lavigne to understand the disease immediately after she'd been diagnosed.

"I took Avril under my wing when she first got sick and shared all I know," Foster said.

While the reality star/former model/Gigi Hadid's mom and the original famous Canadian teen may seem like they've got nothing — besides Lyme disease — in common, they actually had an already-existing relationship. And pull out your thinking cap, because it's one that could only exist in Hollywood.

Yolanda married composer David Foster in 2011. Avril Lavigne was at the wedding, the guest of her then-boyfriend Brody Jenner, who is David Foster's ex-stepson. Lavigne even performed a duet with Kate Hudson (?!) at the ceremony.

"I am so proud of her for going public and helping us bring awareness to this debilitating disease," Foster continued of Lavigne's decision to speak openly about her disease.
