Anything really can happen in Las Vegas.

Lauren Adkins, 25, married a 6-foot Robert Pattinson cutout in a wedding that cost $3,200. Apparently the UNLV student was walking by a record shop when she spotted the Twilight star in his cardboard glory and knew he was the one.

After buying a ring and white dress for her ceremony, Adkins headed to the chapel — the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel on the Vegas strip, to be exact. About 50 guests were in attendance to see their nuptials take place, which was followed by a reception with champagne and a five-tier cake.

“People might think I’m crazy but my flat-pack R.Pattz is the closest I’ll get to the real thing and he’s the one for me,” she apparently told the Mirror. "Leading man Edward was quiet and mysterious, yet superhuman and invincible. And so sexy… And when Robert Pattinson appeared on screen at midnight, he was perfect. I knew that very minute I wanted to marry him."

The festivities weren't over after the reception. Lauren and cardboard Rob honeymooned together in Los Angeles.

"I wanted us to climb up to the Hollywood sign together," she said. "I had to carry him, and we had to do it at night because he can't be in the sun. But everyone makes sacrifices for the man they love, right?"

There is sort of an explanation for all of this… the project was for Adkins's thesis titled, "Love Is Overtaking Me," in which she explores what its like to be overcome by an obsession, particularly driven by pop culture. She planned the project for two years and raised over $1,200 on Indiegogo.

"For as long as I can remember I've been obsessed with romantic fairytale endings," she said. "We got hitched in Las Vegas last year and I'm sure we're happier than most newlyweds."

Hey… for some, love bites.
