A lot of people would have found a call from the late Michael Jackson to be exciting, even something to look forward to. Not Russell Crowe.

In a new interview with the Guardian, the Noah star claimed that the King of Pop used to call him regularly. "For two or three f---ing years," Crowe said. "I never met him, never shook his hand, but he found out the name I stayed in hotels under, so it didn't matter where I was. He'd ring up do this kind of thing, like you did when you were 10, you know? 'Is Mr. Wall there? Is Mrs. Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what's holding the roof up? Ha ha.' You're supposed to grow out of doing that, right?"

At least that's what Crowe says now. In 2010, he told GQ U.K. that he and Jackson became friendly after Crowe's breakout role in 1997's L.A. Confidential and reminisced about MJ's prank calls. "A gruff voice would say something was wrong, then this tiny little voice said, 'Don't worry. This is Michael,'" he recalled.

The Aussie star added that although Jackson had invited him to his Neverland Ranch, he had never visited.

Too bad. Can't you just see Crowe trying to moonwalk?
