[UPDATE] We wanted to clarify this post from earlier today, which reposted a Vine of Sarah Jessica Parker and her family sitting behind Tom Hanks and his own at Tuesday night's Rangers/Kings hockey game at Madison Square Garden. The wordless Vine gave the optical illusion that Parker was reacting to something Hanks was saying with complete revulsion. Many commenters thought we were hyping a nonexistent feud, so to clarify: We thought it was pretty obvious that Parker was not actually giving the stink eye to Hanks — it just struck us funny to consider a world in which these two comic stars would be deadly enemies. Take it from Parker herself, who sent us this note: "We were all pretend fighting about them being Kings fans and us being Rangers fans. I adore Tom and Rita." We can't speak to any bad blood elsewhere in the hockey stands (we'll assume a fight or 10 broke out) but it was all fun in the Parker/Hanks section.

Tuesday night, two New York icons took in the city's fourth or fifth greatest sports tradition, a New York Rangers hockey game. But the ice wasn't the only thing that was cold. Things started out marvelously for Tom Hanks and Sarah Jessica Parker (happy 50th birthday today btw!), who were seated just one row apart. But somewhere, somehow things soured.

Tom Hanks, what did you say? What story could you possibly be telling to strike fear into the eyes of Parker's son James and to inspire this epic stankface? You apologize right now.

Here it is again:

There is, however, an alternate theory. It's possible that SJP is holding her cell phone in her right hand and god knows we've all made a similar face when looking at our Twitter feeds.
