Shailene Woodley has always been a free spirit, but it looks like she might be on the way to settling down (with a boyfriend, at least).

Last week, the Divergent star was spotted cozying up to musician Nahko Bear on the Hamakua Coast of the Big Island. Seated on the beach at sunset, they appeared to be quite smitten with each other, and rumors have surfaced that she may be traveling to Australia to see him again soon. While this alone is far from conclusive, here's what we do know about Shailene's maybe-boyfriend, their relationship history, and her thoughts on love in general.

First and foremost, Nahko is the frontman for the band Nahko and Medicine for the People, which kicks off its Australian tour in a few days. For these rockers, however, it's about more than just the music: They promote a message of personal empowerment as well, encouraging their fans to get involved in manifesting positive change (and to use the hashtag #goodthingscoming to document their efforts). In fact, asked in an interview about his prescription for living a better and more enlightened life, Nahko replied, "Take care of yourself (like, seriously, in your health, walk in spirit, and in your integrity). Take care of your family (which is globally reaching and washing away ego for an equal span). Care take the earth (I mean, who do you think your mother is, really?)."

We can't help but thinking that that sounds like something Shailene would say.

But aside from his lofty goals to change the world, he's also a normal guy. According to his Facebook page, he's originally from Oregon, and, as evidenced by his Instagram, he enjoys life's simple pleasures like eating gyros and cooking bacon in his underwear (swoon). He also recently revealed that he's a "huge fan" of Conan O'Brien and Saturday Night Live, but admitted he might prefer to visit Jimmy Fallon for his first late night show performance — which brings us to our next interesting data point: Nahko and Shailene have publicly supported each other for more than a year.

Discussing his television preferences in October 2013, Nahko said, "SNL has been a dream because I would want to be IN it. I'm such a clown it would be a dream come true," before quickly adding, "Although, we were surprised and stoked when Shailene Woodley got on Jimmy Fallon and gave us a huge plug after seeing us in New York this summer — so I guess it would be proper to full circle it and rock Fallon for our first late night show. We'll just have to wait and see!"

In addition, back in June, posted a glowing message about Shailene before the release of The Fault in Our Stars.

"I don't usually get excited about movies, but this one I'm amped for. One of my best friends is starring in this and she's carrying a torch untamed and unmatched," he gushed. "Big ups to this young rebel rocker."

Beyond mentioning Nahko on Fallon, Shailene has praised him for his support of her work with All It Takes, a non-profit organization that empowers people to create sustainable positive change. "He has dramatically changed my life," Woodley explained. "All of his songs are not only inspirational but relatable, and they coincide perfectly with the vision All It Takes has." She also gave him a shout out in March, praising the meaning behind his music. "The messages that are interwoven into their lyrics are really powerful," she mused.

But the jury's still out on whether this couple is official or not, and Shailene certainly hasn't been shy about her uncertainty about long-term relationships. "I don't know whether humans are genetically programmed to be with one person forever," she shared with Marie Claire. That doesn't mean she isn't interested in finding love, though. In fact, it's just the opposite.

"I'm in love with so many people. I'm in love with men. I'm in love with women. I'm in love with best friends, my brother, my mom, my dad," she mused during her press tour for Divergent. "I think that it's so universal and at the end of the day, love is really all there is."

We'll have to wait and see whether Nahko and Shailene's relationship has transitioned from close friends to something more, but for now, we see #goodthingscoming for both of them.
