Yahoo Entertainment Russell Brand: Tom Cruise Had No Interest in Recruiting Me for Scientology
You might have dodged a bullet Russell Brand!
The "Brand X" talk show host stopped by "Conan" on Tuesday night, where he joked about trying to get recruited for Scientology via his "Rock of Ages" co-star Tom Cruise.
"Firstly, he's a glorious man and he's very kind and sweet," Brand said of Cruise. "That's what you say if you want to continue to work in the film industry."
"I was thinking, he's a member of that religion called Scientology I thought, 'Oh I'm interested in that,'" Brand quipped, explaining how he'd go fishing for an introduction to the religion. "Every so often I'd say things like, 'Oh Tom, sometimes I'm a bit lost in life. Oh Tom, I wish I had a way of thinking more positively about the future.'"
The comedian continued: "That man had no interest in getting me in Scientology at all. If there's a cult that don't want me, I want to know why!"
While chatting with Conan O'Brien, Brand also revealed he has the hots for Jennifer Lawrence!
"She's a really beautiful Oscar winning actress," the 27-year-old comedian said. "I wouldn't go 'I refuse to have sex with this glorious creation.'"
"She's so beautiful, elegant and mysterious," Brand continued. "I bet she's probably a pain in the ass, she's bound to be isn't she?"
Maybe there was some truth to those rumors after all that Brand hit on Lawrence at Vanity Fair's post-Oscars bash back in February … and even more truth to the rumors that she rejected him!
That might have constituted the pain in the ass remark, no?
