Lindsay Lohan Spends Time in the Cold After Community Service

As you may or may not know, Lindsay Lohan reported for duty last week at Duffield Children's Center in Brooklyn, New York, to begin her largely implausible task of completing 115 community service hours in just over two weeks. (See the Instagram photo above for proof that she made it there!)

The 28-year-old actress faces the imminent threat of possible arrest should she not complete her hours by May 28 — so obviously, it's imperative that she does. Ask any overworked American if the task at hand is possible, and the bleary-eyed man or woman might exclaim, "Absolutely!" But this is Lindsay Lohan we're talking about, and she warrants more than a few doubts. (Although we are rooting for her!)

But there is some evidence those who doubted Lindsay might wish to consider. Anyone who works hard knows a great way to keep up the good work is by taking care of oneself and unwinding, and some photos have made their way onto Lindsay's Instagram that show when she's not doing community service, the Mean Girls star has been busy indulging in cryotherapy treatments.

For the uninitiated, cryotherapy is — essentially — when a person (or masochist) submerges themselves in a chamber for a few minutes with subzero temperatures ranging between -184 and -292 degrees. The perks are supposedly other-worldly — from burning nearly 800 calories to repairing your metabolism to improving your demeanor. Celebs are obsessed with the trend, and Lohan has previously revealed her penchant for the icy routine.

Of course, naysayers who hate on Lindsay may ask the begging question: Has Lohan been skimping on her community service hours so she can take part in expensive self-care? We obviously don't know for sure, but we can safely guess she's not — this is just what she's doing during her (minimal) free time. Some might ask, "but shouldn't she be spending every waking hour trying to finish her sentence?" Contrarily, Lohan might just be simply demonstrating her ability to execute balance for one of the first times in her life. She's going to work and then working — er, freezing — out. And naturally, she also needs to schedule time to psyche herself up for her cryo sessions as demonstrated in a couple of Instagram videos.

Would haters snub her if they saw her in the middle of a sweat session at Brooklyn's Soul Cycle? Lindsay has gone — and tweeted about — taking part in the cult cycling class, and it is a generally more accepted form of calorie-burning than cryotherapy, save for those who dislike Soul Cycle's guru-like instructors. (And for what it's worth, is Lindsay going to Soul Cycle? And if she is doing that in addition to cryotherapy, shouldn't we at least be glad that she's spinning in her downtime versus taking part in some other questionable activity?)

The truth is, it doesn't matter what she's doing in her downtime, as long as she's completing her service hours. And judging by the photo of her gardening n a minidress above at a women's shelter, it looks like she's at least trying to get 'em done! And who knows — maybe cryotherapy motivates her to feel good and get back to doing community service.

Whatever works for ya, Linds. Just make sure you complete those 115 community service hours by next Thursday!
