Lil Wayne Still Recovering in Hospital, Receives Support From Friends

Six days after first being admitted to the hospital with seizures, Lil Wayne is still recovering in Los Angeles.

Fortunately, a source tells "omg! Insider's" Nina Parker that the rapper is going to be fine. The source confirmed that Wayne did have seizures and he's still in the hospital, but should be released shortly. The source added that he was never near death and there was never "a prayer circle" for him.

Wayne was reportedly first admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. on Tuesday and released on Wednesday, before being readmitted again later on Wednesday. At one point, he was reported to have been in critical condition, which was a result of a sizzurp binge (a drug for which the main ingredient is codeine).

A number of Lil Wayne's famous friends have reached out and even visited him at Cedars-Sinai in L.A., where he's recuperating. According to Us Weekly, Nicki Minaj, Drake and Birdman – all part of his Young Money label – have dropped by.

"Lil Wayne is doing well, thank you for your concern," a rep for the rapper told "omg! Insider" on Monday.

Weezy himself tweeted on Friday to put to rest rumors of him being in worse condition:

I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.

And those who couldn't visit Lil Wayne in person sent their love from afar. Usher, who made a surprise stop at SXSW in Austin, Texas, to perform with Afghan Whigs, asked the crowd to send a message of support.

"My friend Lil Wayne is going through a hard time right now … and I just want to send a lot of positive attitude about his state ... A lot of positive energy out there right now," Usher said before asking the crowd to make a little noise for his friend.
(The message begins 27 minutes into the clip below).

On Saturday, also down in Austin, rapper T.I. lashed out at TMZ for reporting that Wayne had been given his "last rites." "TMZ, all of y'all take this entertainment s**t way too far," T.I. told Skee TV. "We live and hurt. We got mommas, we got kids. They hurt, we hurt." Later on, T.I. tweeted a much more explicit version of his opinions.
