Talk about a great (slightly early) anniversary present… Jimmy Kimmel is a dad again!
The late-night talk show host tweeted that his wife, Molly McNearney, gave birth to a little girl on Thursday.
Congratulations to my beautiful and very tough wife @mollymcnearney on delivering our baby girl this morning— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) July 10, 2014
Thanks for all your kind baby wishes - turns out, not ALL tweets are mean!— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) July 10, 2014
McNearney also got in on the tweeting fun.
Kids, don't do drugs. Until you have a baby. Then do ALL OF THEM.— Molly McNearney (@mollymcnearney) July 10, 2014
This is the first child for Kimmel, 46, and McNearny, 36. He has two kids — daughter Katie, 22, and son Kevin, 20 — from his previous marriage. The funnyman wed McNearney, who is co-head writer on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, on July 13, 2013, at a star-studded wedding in Ojai, California.
Kimmel revealed that McNearney had a baby on board in February. Though he's already experienced parenthood, Kimmel told Ellen DeGeneres that he's "really forgotten everything" about raising a little one.
"It's funny because I was just with some friends [John Krasinski and Emily Blunt] who just had a baby I was like, 'Oh, ya,'" he joked. "And there's new ways to do things. You hold them by the front of the neck now it seems."
"I told my daughter, 'Listen, there's only so much love I have to give. You're gonna have to split it up with the new kid. There's a finite amount of love and that's that,'" he teased. "So [my children] are dealing with it, but it is very weird at my age to, you know… I'm going to be one of those old dads."
The jokes didn't end there.
"I like the name Karate," he said when discussing baby names. "I think Karate Kimmel has a great ring to it. And I like, you know, the Kardashians with the two Ks thing. It's nice."
So was Karate the winning name? Nope... according to People, the couple chose the name Jane.
